INTERNATIONAL SECRETARIAT · SECRÉTARIAT INTERNATIONAL Place du Petit Sablon 3 B-1000 Brussels T. +32 2 504 81 55 E. secgen@nato-pa.int www.nato-pa.int THE PRESIDENT / THE SECRETARY GENERAL LE PRÉSIDENT / LA SECRÉTAIRE GÉNÉRALE 070 CIR 22 E 22 March 2022 TO ALL MEMBERS FROM MEMBER AND ASSOCIATE MEMBER DELEGATIONS OF THE ASSEMBLY Re: New arrangements for the 2022 Spring Session Dear members, As you know, the Assembly was due to meet in Kyiv on 27-30 May for our next Spring Session. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has made it impossible to continue to plan for this event. Our Ukrainian colleagues are fully engaged in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to self-defence and self-determination, and they need our continued support. We have assured them that the Assembly will return to Ukraine as soon as circumstances allow to demonstrate this support. In light of circumstances, the Lithuanian Delegation has kindly offered to host the Assembly’s Spring Session and make this meeting a key moment of solidarity with Ukraine. We are extremely grateful to the Lithuanian Seimas for their generosity and will work closely with them and our Ukrainian colleagues to ensure this exceptional spring session maximizes opportunities for members to express their support to Ukraine, discuss further immediate and long-term responses to Russia’s invasion and initial lessons for the Alliance and the international community writ large. The International Secretariat will share further practical information shortly. Please do not hesitate to contact the Secretary General and her team for any questions. Yours sincerely, Gerald E. Connolly President Ruxandra Popa Secretary General Offentligt NPA Alm.del - Bilag 21 NATO's Parlamentariske Forsamling 2021-22
