    ТОРАГАСЫНЫН, ОРЫНБАСАРЫ
    DEPUTY CHAIRMAN
    SENATE OF THE PARLIAMENT
    OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
    Nur-Sultan
    July 12, 2021
    Dear colleagues,
I would like to thank all national delegations to the OSCE PA that were able
to take part in 2021 Remote Session and express my heartfelt thanks to the members
ofthe Parliamentary Assembly who voted in support of my candidacy.
I am humbled by this moment and deeply grateful to my colleagues for
electing me to serve as the OSCE PA Vice-President. Thank you for your trust and
the opportunity to serve with such accomplished leaders. I am very appreciative of
    all ofyou.
Kazakhstan is strongly committed to OSCE principles and values. Co
operation with OSCE is one of the priorities of our foreign policy. As you know,
Kazakh land has been a host to the Assembly’s events for many times. We hosted
the 17th Annual Session in 2008, Bureau meeting before the OSCE Summit in 2010,
    and two Trans-Asian parliamentary forums.
It is a great honor and privilege for me to became a second representative of
my country after the current President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev who served as the
Vice-President of the Assembly in 2008-2011.
My diplomatic experience gives me a deep understanding of the importance
of constructive dialogue in addressing global challenges, rebuilding trust
and improving security climate throughout the OSCE region.
You can count on my full support, and I look forward to working with you in
    the coming years.
    Sincerely yours,
    Askar SHAKIROV
