Dear colleagues,
As you may know, early parliamentary elections have been scheduled in Bulgaria for 11
July following inconclusive efforts to form a government after the 4 April elections. I have the
intention to deploy an election observation mission on behalf of the OSCE Parliamentary
Assembly to observe these elections and follow up on the important mission we deployed for
the April elections. Considering other Assembly commitments including an observation
mission to Moldova on the same day, I have decided that the mission to Bulgaria should be
composed of observers who participated in our mission to the 4 April elections.
In the coming days, the International Secretariat will be distributing further information
to Members who observed the 4 April elections in Bulgaria, inviting them to participate in this
coming observation mission.
The International Secretariat is already in preparations for deploying such an observation
mission, and will remain in contact with our traditional observation partners.
I am sure that we all look forward to following the work of this observation mission in
the coming months.
