Dear Member,
Further to the circular letter sent by David Hobbs on 26 December 2019 [231 CIR 19 E] regarding
vacancies on the NATO PA’s Bureau, I am pleased to inform you that in accordance with Article 9 of
the Assembly’s Rules, the Bureau has unanimously appointed Mr Karl A. Lamers (Germany), as acting
Vice-President to fulfil the mandate vacated by Mr Richard Benyon (United Kingdom).
That mandate concludes at the Annual Session in Athens in November 2020, so Mr Lamers will not be
eligible for re-election as Vice-President at that Session.
