MINUTES STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE OSCE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY Andorra la Vella Wednesday 4 October 2017 Call to Order The meeting was opened at 14:30 with Ms. Christine MUTTONEN (Austria), President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in the Chair. 1. Adoption of the Agenda The agenda was adopted. 2. Report of the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Ms. Christine Muttonen, and review of current political international issues; The President reported to the Standing Committee on her recent activities. The President opened the debate on review of current political international issues . Speakers: Mr. SANCHEZ AMOR (Spain), Ms. MURADOVA (Azerbaijan), Ms. MAUBORGNE (France), Mr. COMPAGNA (Italy). 3. Reports and Information on Activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly: 3.1. Reports on Election Observation Activities Mr. TSERETELI (Georgia) presented his report on the election observation mission to Germany, which took place on 24 September 2017. The President informed the Standing Committee of the following election observation mission: EOM to Kyrgyzstan, Presidential Elections, 15 October 2017 3.2. Reports on the Activities of the Ad Hoc Committees Mr. BOWNESS (United Kingdom), Chair of the Sub-Committee on the Rules of Procedure and Working Practices, reported on the committee’s activities. Mr. LOMBARDI (Switzerland), Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Migration, reported on the committee’s activities. Mr. KOVALEV (Russian Federation), Vice-Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Countering Terrorism, reported on the committee’s activities. 3.3. Reports on the Activities of the Special Representatives Mr. KANERVA (Finland), Special Representative on Mediation, reported on his activities. OSCEs Parlamentariske Forsamling 2017-18 OSCE Alm.del Bilag 7 Offentligt Mr. ELVESTUEN (Norway), Special Representative for Arctic Issues, reported on his activities. Mr. HARSTEDT (Sweden), Special Representative for Eastern Europe, reported on his activities. The President interrupted the discussion and moved to point 5 of the agenda. 5. Remarks by Ms. Ingibjörg S. Gísladóttir, Director of the OSCE ODIHR Ms. Ingibjörg S. Gísladóttir, Director of the OSCE ODIHR, presented her remarks to the Standing Committee. The President resumed the discussion on item 4 of the agenda. 4. Report of the Treasurer of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Ms. Doris Barnett Ms. BARNETT presented her report to the Standing Committee. Report by the Secretary General of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly: Mr. Roberto Montella Mr. MONTELLA presented his report to the Standing Committee. Speakers: Ms. MURADOVA (Azerbaijan) 7. Future meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in 2017 and 2018 The President informed the Standing Committee of the following meeting dates: • Meeting of the Bureau on 6 December 2017 in Vienna (in conjunction with the OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting on 7 and 8 December 2017) • Winter Meeting on 22 and 23 February 2018 in Vienna (meeting of the Standing Committee, joint and individual meetings of the three General Committees) • Meeting of the Bureau on 15 and 16 April 2018 in Copenhagen • 27th Annual Session from 7 to 11 July 2018 in Berlin Speakers: Ms. BARNETT (Germany) • Autumn Meeting 2018 dates TBC October 2018 in Bishkek 8.
