Dear Heads of Delegations,
General elections are scheduled in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 October 2014, and
OSCE PA President Ilkka Kanerva has decided to deploy an election observation mission to
these important elections. President Kanerva has nominated Mr Roberto Battelli, OSCE PA
Treasurer and Special Representative on South East Europe to serve as OSCE Special Co-
ordinator for these elections.
Please find attached a registration form for Members wishing to observe the election in
Bosnia and Herzegovina. We kindly ask you to return the completed form with a copy of the
photograph page from Members’ passports and a digital photograph to the International
Secretariat at (eom@oscepa.dk) as soon as possible, but no later than 26 September 2014.
Please note that due to registration procedures, we may not be able to accommodate those who
register after the deadline. To ensure geographical balance within the Assembly mission, each
national delegation may nominate up to 10% of the entire participation.
Further information will be distributed to participants soon. Briefings for the mission are
expected to be held during the 2 days before election day in Sarajevo, and Members are
reminded that in accordance with the OSCE PA’s Astana Declaration of 2008, participants are
expected to attend the full briefing programme as well as the de-briefing on the day following
the election.
I wish to remind you that national parliaments are responsible for their Members’
expenses and that only English interpretation will be provided in meetings and briefings.
