The climate crisis is no longer a glimpse into the future but the daily reality for communities around the
world. 3.6 billion people live in areas that are highly vulnerable to climate change – accounting for over
40% of the global population. Climate extremes are one of the leading causes of food insecurity globally.
As world leaders are preparing for the largest annual global gathering on climate action, COP27, you are
kindly invited to join us for this event that will gather representatives from government, UN organizations,
NGOs and foundations to discuss the need for effective and scalable solutions to help food insecure
people prepare for, respond to and recover from climate shocks and stresses.
The event coincides with the opening of UN World Food Programme’s climate change exhibition Turning
the Tide. Doors open at 14:00 for a tour of the exhibition and for networking opportunities.
